Do you enjoy cooking, eating, local food work, or just simply – food? If you answered yes to any of these, consider joining the Extension Master Food and Nutrition Volunteer (MFNV) program now! The 2024 application for the MFNV program is now open to Brevard County citizens!

The MFNV program, similar to the highly recognized Master Gardener Volunteer program, is designed to provide volunteers the opportunity to support Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) agents with food-related programming. Volunteers with the MFNV program will receive a core curriculum of 30 hours of training and will then shadow the FCS agent for 30 hours during their first year.

Volunteers will be able to support the FCS agent’s food-related programming, including assisting with cooking, nutrition education, and food safety classes, as well as conducting food demonstrations in the community.

The cost of the program is $100, but you will not be charged until after you send in an application. After you sign up through Eventbrite, we will send you an application via email. The application deadline is January 15th, but sign up early because spots are limited! Training will begin on January 25th.

If you have any questions, please contact us at brevard@ifas.ufl.edu
